The Urban Service: Living Room Wall Washing Process
Because the living room often contains electronics and delicate decor, we use a highly controlled “Precision Clean” process:
Step 1: Preparation & Protection We move furniture away from the walls and use industrial-grade drop cloths to protect your flooring, sofas, and electronic units (TVs, sound systems) from any moisture.
Step 2: Dry Micro-Dusting Using extendable microfiber poles, we remove all loose dust and cobwebs from the ceiling corners down to the skirting. This ensures that when we add moisture, we aren’t just “smearing mud” on the walls.
Step 3: High-Traffic Spot Treatment We focus on “problem zones”: fingerprints around light switches, scuff marks behind the sofa, and dust buildup around AC vents. We use specialized, paint-safe cleaners for these areas.
Step 4: Controlled Wet Washing Using a pH-neutral solution that doesn’t strip paint luster, our team washes the walls using the “Grid Method.” We work in small sections to ensure uniform cleaning and no streaks.
Step 5: Micro-Fiber Buffing After washing, each section is wiped with a clean, damp cloth to remove residue and then buffed dry with a fresh microfiber towel to restore the original shine of your paint.
Step 6: Final Inspection We do a walk-through with the client to ensure every corner of the living room meets The Urban Service quality standard.
Which Paints Can We Wash?
Highly Recommended: Plastic Emulsion, Luster, Royale, and Acrylic paints.
Not Recommended: Traditional Distemper or Lime-wash (these are water-sensitive). For these, we offer a specialized “Dry Cleaning” process.
